Sunderland LGBT+ Network
ABOUT US
Sunderland LGBT+ Network has grown significantly since its inception and in 2011, when it held the first Pride Event in Sunderland. It became Sunderland Pride Group in 2015, as it was felt that a Pride Festival year did not meet the community’s diverse needs, and a further change in 2020 Sunderland LGBT+ Network was established, to meet the growing needs of the community.
We are a community led organisation and base our work on identified LGBT+ community needs and aim to contribute to a society in which LGBT+ people are involved and have the opportunity to achieve in their life and wellbeing.
To create opportunities for LGBT+ individuals in Sunderland and the North East to become happier, healthier and self –empowered. We work to create a visible presence of LGBT+ issues and we will work to end homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia and to promote respect for LGBT+ people.
OBJECTIVES
